Message from BIA Leadership
BIA Members:
This morning Mo Rushdy, President of the Building Industry Association of Philadelphia, tendered his resignation to the Executive Committee of the BIA Board of Directors.
Mo's expression of certain personal and geopolitical viewpoints in front of City Council two weeks ago was not sanctioned by the BIA and was hurtful to many of its members. After much thoughtful reflection, the BIA has accepted Mo’s resignation as President. The BIA appreciates Mo's contributions over the past many years, especially for his efforts to expand high quality housing options to the benefit of all Philadelphia residents.
The BIA is not a geopolitically focused organization. Its mission is to advocate for responsible real estate development in the city of Philadelphia. Sarina Rose has agreed to take the role of President, effective immediately. We look forward to continuing BIA's positive impact on this great city.
