News from BIA’s Student Chapter
Liguori Academy ended the school year by celebrating the accomplishments of the class of 2020 - together - with a socially distant and masked graduation ceremony on June 12. BIA congratulates the graduates and all of Liguori's students for successfully completing a challenging year.
COVID-19 changed the way BIA planned to interact with the school but didn't stop us from finding ways to support the students. BIA President Leo Addimando joined a class participating in a new cross-curricular program that included creating a blueprint based on a building from a novel they were reading and using engineering and art to build a replica of that structure. "Our students proudly presented their K'Nex models," said Alice Niles, COO at Liguori, "and when Leo shared a model of Lincoln Square and said it is part of his job to play with Legos, it was just brilliant!"
This summer, The HOW Group is hosting students for virtual internships and is also leading a program encouraging entrepreneurship that culminates in a Shark Tank type event with several BIA members who volunteered to be judges.
