Advocacy and Initiatives
BIA OF PHILADELPHIA IS A FORCEFUL ADVOCATE ON BEHALF OF OUR MEMBERS, OUR INDUSTRY, AND OUR CITY AND A FIRM BELIEVER THAT THE REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT COMMUNITY HAS A CRITICAL ROLE TO PLAY IN THE FUTURE PROSPERITY OF OUR CITY AND ITS RESIDENTS.
THE BIA ADVANCES SOUND POLICIES THAT SUPPORT ALL TYPES OF RESIDENTIAL AND MIXED-USED CONSTRUCTION.
Working with government and elected officials and in partnership with many non-profit, community, civic, and environmental organizations, the BIA promotes legislation, regulation and public policies that support equitable development, economic growth, and sustainability.BIA Policy Agenda
BIA BELIEVES IN DOING WELL BY DOING GOOD.
The BIA’s Affordable/Workforce Housing Committee recognizes the city’s urgent need to address affordable housing and equity gap issues. We know that by leveraging public-private partnerships, BIA members can work with the city to meet affordable housing needs, address equitable development issues, and make profitable investments in Philadelphia's neighborhoods.
In partnership with industry employers, educational and training organizations, and other professionals, the BIA’s Workforce Development Alliance is aimed at alleviating the chronic shortage of skilled labor in the construction industry, while providing well-paying jobs for city residents.Email To Learn More
