The House That She Built: Written by BIA Member Mollie Elkman

The BIA is pleased to promote The House That She Built written by member Mollie Elkman of Group Two Advertising and illustrated by Georgia Castellano.

There is a significant shortage of skilled workers in the construction industry, which is a growing crisis for the US economy. The solution is right in front of us when we recognize that only 3% of the onsite workforce is women.

While there are wonderful programs in place to recruit high school students into the trades, the real opportunity for long-term, sustainable change is with our youngest learners. By sharing The House That She Built with children we are changing the conversations before career-based bias can even form. The goal is to inspire and empower both girls and boys.
