Water and Sewer Service Connection Process

To avoid delays in service connection permitting and installation, it is critical that members understand and follow the proper procedures at Water and Sewer Connection Process. Once tap permits are obtained, PWD recommends submitting the tap inspection and installation requests immediately to get into the queue. Connections are not scheduled until requested.

2″ or smaller – Contact the Drill desk at (215) 685-9627 to schedule the ferrule tap.

4″ or greater – Complete and submit the New Water Connection Request Form to PWD_Water_Connections@phila.gov. Applicants will receive a confirmation letter with a work order number, as well as the name, email address, and cell phone number of the district supervisor. The supervisor is aware of the service priorities in the district, the current schedule, and emergencies that arise and will be your first point of contact when following up on the status of the connection.
