Message from BIA Leadership
BIA Members:
As many of you are aware, on September 22, Mo Rushdy, President of the BIA, used the platform afforded to him by the BIA to share his personal opinions on the conflict between Israel and Palestine in front of Philadelphia City Council.
It is important to note that Mo's comments were his personal opinions and DO NOT represent the views of the BIA as an organization. On behalf of the BIA, we would like to apologize for the hurt that this has caused to numerous members and non-members alike.
Mo’s use of the BIA platform to express personal views was a lapse in judgement for which he has since apologized. And while we appreciate that this apology may not suffice for some members, we feel as though it was done with sincerity and after much reflection. In addition to issuing his public apology, he has committed to not expressing his personal views anywhere that has any attachment to the BIA in the future.
The executive committee wants to assure our membership that our focus will remain on advocating for the building industry in the city of Philadelphia and not be further distracted by globally divisive political stances.
If you would like to talk to us, please reach out to any of the members of the executive committee or recent past presidents.
